The latest stallion to enroll on TrueNicks is Cat Dreams (TrueNicks,SRO),
who stands at Indiana's Still Creek Farms as the property of Triple
‘R' Thoroughbred Syndicate.
A son of Storm Cat out of millionairess
J J'sdream, Cat Dreams was a $475,000 Keeneland September yearling. Running for
B. Wayne Hughes, he looked as if was going to turn out to be
well worth his purchase price when breaking his maiden at Churchill Downs by
eight lengths on his debut at 2. Unfortunately, Cat Dreams then suffered an
injury that proved to be career ending, and retired to stand in California. He was purchased by Triple ‘R'
Thoroughbreds at the end of 2009, and is currently standing his first season in
Indiana.
Sire of 16 winners from his first 38
starters, Cat Dreams has been in the headlines recently as sire of Caracortado,
who won his first five starts, including the Robert B. Lewis Stakes (gr. II) in February.
On his latest start, Caracortado lost his unbeaten record, but confirmed
himself as a serious classic candidate, with a third in the San Felipe Stakes
(gr. II). Cat Dreams' other winners including the multiple stakes placed
Thelifotheparty, and with only two crops at the races, he's currently a top-five stallion in his state.
