Back on the 1st of June 2009, as part of our study on the TrueNicks ratings and how they are calculated each year we ran the complete 2007 crops on a number of proven stallions - Giant's Causeway, Stormy Atlantic, Maria's Mon and Johannesburg, along with some then unproven sires with their first runners in Afleet Alex, Eurosilver and Roman Ruler.
The goal of the study is to look at how ratings change over time but we thought it noteworthy to reproduce the complete list of ratings compiled at that time for the ill-fated Maria's Mon which of course now includes the Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver, the Lexington Stakes winner Exhi, Matron Stakes winner Awesome Maria and stakes winners All About Anna, Paris Vegas and Turf Melody (he is the then unnamed colt out of Tricky Bird). Yes, Maria's Mon has been some loss to the breed. You can download the complete crop here but here are the ratings of those horses as they were back on June 1st 2009
