TrueNicks ratings are based on all worldwide stakes winners from all worldwide starters. Each rating references the constantly-updated worldwide database of The Jockey Club Information Systems, and each report is generated in real time when requested by the user.
Over the weekend there were additional starters and stakes winners for the crosses represented below. Accordingly, the variant scores adjusted slightly. In the case of Tidal Pool, whose rating was right on the cusp between A++ and A+ before the Oaks, she had a slight decrease in variant score that resulted in a nominal downgrading. This reflects the slight change in opportunity for her rated cross (Yankee Gentleman/Northern Dancer) -- this cross had additional starters over the weekend, but not additional stakes winners. Likewise, you will notice slight variant score changes for all six horses below, reflecting the updated race results for starters on each cross.
These "before and after" snapshots illustrate both a rating’s stability and its immediate reflection of racing results in The Jockey Club's worldwide database. The strength of this database is a feature unique to TrueNicks among nicking programs. Additionally, TrueNicks ratings are not weighted for a specific horse or for the magnitude of a particular victory -- both Super Saver and Blind Luck were stakes winners before last weekend and thus their status as stakes winners had already been factored into their respective ratings.
