2009 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Mine That Bird has been entered in the July 4th Firecracker Handicap (gr. II) at Churchill Downs. The race is one mile on the turf. While Mine That Bird is not certain to start in the Firecracker, Trainer D. Wayne Lukas said it would be a prep for the Whitney Handicap (gr. I) on dirt.
