#4 is On A Soapbox, all else, same.

refrain 22 Jul 2010 10:29 PM

Coaching Club American Oaks is the race all of these fillies won

I began with #3 because I remember that Christmas Past was a grey granddaughter of Plum Cake (*Grey Dawn II -Yule Log, Bold Ruler (by *Nasrullah)-Plum Cake, Ponder)

#2 was the other granddaughter of Plum Cake that won the CCA Oaks, Our Mims (*Herbager -Sweet Tooth, On and On (by *Nasrullah)-Plum Cake, Ponder)

#4 Peroxide Blonde was the dam of Stage Door Johnny, who was the broodmare sire of 1989 winner of the CCA Oaks, Open Mind (Deputy Minister-Stage Luck, Stage Door Johnny), however, she was a chestnut; the 1999 CCA Oaks winner was On a Soapbox (Mi Cielo-Makin a Statement, Stage Door Johnny) and she was a bay filly that matches this pedigree

#1 I left for last.....but actually I was pretty sure that this CCA Oaks winner was inbred to *La Troienne, family 1-x.  This would be the 1993 winner, My Flag (Easy Goer-Personal Ensign, Private Account); Private Account's dam is descended through the female line from Baby League; Easy Goer (Alydar-Relaxing, Buckpasser) Buckpasser is descended through the female line from Businesslike and Relaxing is descended through the female line from Big Hurry; Baby League (Bubbling Over), Businesslike (Blue Larkspur) and Big Hurry (Black Toney) were daughters of *La Troienne

Deep in the Heart of Texas 22 Jul 2010 10:45 PM

Oh, and I forgot, but #2 the sire of Our Mims, *Herbager is from the 16-c family and #3 the sire of Christmas Past, *Grey Dawn II is also from the 16-c family

HLLIKINS 23 Jul 2010 8:45 AM

The bay whose granddam is Plum Cake is Our Mims I think. Also since the Coaching Club is this weekend, that is the race all four have won.

ThoroughRachel 23 Jul 2010 11:55 AM

Maybe I made this too easy... a lot of you are getting this one right.

I'll step it up next week.

Ian Tapp 23 Jul 2010 1:11 PM

So, I will give this a shot!  I believe the race to be the Coaching Club american Oaks.

The Family 1-x Ch. is My Flag.

The Bay Plum Cake, Nasrullah is Our Mims.

The Gr. Plum Cake, Nasrullah is Christmas Past.

And the Bay Peroxide Blonde is On A Soapbox.

This was really fun.  I'm new at this and since it so hot out right now it was a fun way to spend some "down time".  Thanks, hope I got them right!

yorkknls 23 Jul 2010 6:08 PM

Number 1 - My Flag

Number 2 - Our Mims

Number 3 - Christmas Past

Number 4 - Class Play

And they all won the CCA Oaks.

I liked that one. :)

Flynne 23 Jul 2010 9:37 PM

I did my best ,but the only race that seems to fit is the CCA Oaks !

#1 - ?

#2 -Our Mims

#3 -Christmas Past

#4 -Open Mind ???

I know Open Mind is a Chestnut but, She is the only filly I could find that made any sense ! ?

Pedigree Shelly 25 Jul 2010 6:51 PM

It's the CCA Oaks

My Flag, Our Mims, Christmas Past and On a Soapbox
