Grade I Winner Bullsbay Joins TrueNicks

Grade I winner Bullsbay (TrueNicks) has been retired and will stand at Northview Stallion Station near Chesapeake City, Md., for the 2011 breeding season.

The son of Tiznow earned $923,245 during a career that included a victory in the 2009 Whitney Handicap (gr. I), where he defeated Macho Again and Commentator. Bullsbay also won the Alysheba Stakes (gr. III), set a track record for one mile at Del Mar, and finished third to eventual Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra in the Woodward Stakes (gr. I).

Out of the stakes-placed Lord Carson mare The Hess Express, Bullsbay is a half brother to juvenile stakes winners Our Khrysty and Hidden Expression. His multiple stakes-winning third dam, Grecian Comedy, is a half sister to grade I-winning millionaire Grecian Flight.

His stud fee will be announced at a later date.

I really liked this horse.  He ran a terrific Whitney.  The last race he ran in @ Monmouth was a ''joke'' with the way he was ridden.  He took him so wide and why?  He will make his Daddy proud as a successful sire, I know...

It's nice to see a quality son of Tiznow on the East Coast ! I'm pretty sure he'll be an asset for breeders trying to get away from the Mr. P and Storm Cat lines .

The Hess Express is a great mare. I love Bullsbay, as he always gives his all. He'll be a great sire. Note his half sister, Our Khrysty ,won the Nellie Bly with Ramon Dominguez aboard on 9-26-2010. It was a brilliant ride by Ramon and he had alot of horse under him when he finished. Our Khrysty has a fan club of many friends. She,s the one to watch. Bull, I hope you get a lot of mares, you deserve it. I will follow the Hess and her Lawyer Ron foal also.
