Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) winner and Champion Two-Year-Old Midshipman (TrueNicks,SRO) is now available on TrueNicks. The son of Unbridled's Song will stand the 2011 breeding season at Darley's Jonabell Farm near Lexington, Ky.
A debut maiden winner at Del Mar, Midshipman captured the 7-furlong Del Mar Futurity (gr. I) in his second start. The chestnut was a close second in the Norfolk Stakes (gr. I) before solidifying championship honors in the Juvenile (video below).
At three, Midshipman won a 6 ½-furlong allowance at Belmont Park before turning in a gutsy third-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. I).
Produced from the multiple grade II-winning Avenue of Flags mare Fleet Lady, Midshipman is a half brother to Cotillion Handicap (gr. II) winner Fast Cookie.
A stud fee for Midshipman will be announced at a later date.
