Quality Road on TrueNicks

Multiple grade I winner and track record holder Quality Road (TrueNicks,SRO) has joined TrueNicks in advance of the 2011 breeding season. Following his run in the next month's Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I), for which he is one of the favorites, Quality Road will retire to Lane's End Farm.

The son of Elusive Quality holds grade I wins in the Florida Derby, Donn Handicap, Met Mile, and Woodward Stakes. He has set two track records at Gulfstream for 9 furlongs, and clocked a new track record of 1:13.74 in the 6 1/2-furlong Amsterdam (gr. II) at Saratoga.

Quality Road was produced from the Strawberry Road mare Kobla, a full sister to 1997 Breeders' Cup Distaff (gr. I) winner and champion three-year-old filly Ajina. He traces to Myrtlewood in tail female, meaning that he belongs to the same 13-c family as Mr. Prospector.

Quality Road's stud fee will be announced at a later date.

Ian , Sorry to go off the subject, but why isn't the Dynaformer Stallion Purim ,listed in the complimentary list of stallions ?

PS , I forgot to ask you when your next puzzle is coming up ? I know I didn't have much luck with the last one but , I'm not a quitter and I'd like to try again ! I liked the last one in puzzle format but ,I really hoped this time you could do one about horseracing during WW II ? Just an idea :)

Quality Road 2010 Classic winner and HOY.  I can see the future !

Draynay.....your future is clouded.  He will not even hit the board.  The big Amazon mare will inhale him and run right on by.  I do think he will be a nice stallion.

Robert, Blame or Quality will run Zenyatta off her high heels

As I have been lucky to have seen Quality Road race at Gulfstream Park, I am disappointed that he will retire after the Breeders Cup Classic. I was so looking forward to see him race at his favorite track in 2011.

I am disappointed that no explanation was offered for his retiring as a 4 year old.

I would like to hear from some experts about the comparison of his confirmation to his ancestors Secretariat and Strawberry Road. His build reminds me of both of them. Maybe, Will Farrish saw the same thing.

blamelse-- you are right....Zenyatta is going to kick off those high heels and smoke Blame and Quality Road

I have always admired Quality Road. I felt bad for him last year at the Breeders Cup when he was being loaded into the starting gate. He took one look at the Amazon Mare next to him & thought, hmmmm no way am I racing against that Freak!! I pray he does better this year and I look forward to visiting him next year at Lane's End!!

Robert,

You must be a Quality Road hater.  Zenyatta may win but Quality Road will be there and he will hit the board.

The Big "Z" likes to come from way back; a long way off the pace.  If Mike can get her settled into her nice long rhythmic stride God Help the Boys!  Weather permitting on the CD dirt track the fellas don't stand a chance - she plays catch-up par excellence!  Must state my second choice would be Quality Road.
