New Jersey-based Unbridled Jet (TrueNicks) has joined TrueNicks, allowing breeders to run unlimited nicking reports for the stallion. The son of Unbridled stands at Sleeter Farm in Clementon, N.J.
A $360,000 yearling purchase, Unbridled Jet was competitive in graded stakes throughout his career. He was fourth in the Sapling (gr. III) and Nashua (gr. III) at two, and at age three was an impressive fourth in the Haskell Invitational (gr. I, video) after taking up at the eighth-pole. Later that year, he finished a game second, beaten a nose, in the Pegasus Handicap (gr. II). He closed out his career with a powerful 12-length romp in a Gulfstream Park allowance, retiring with earnings of over $250,000.
Bred on the same, successful Unbridled/Alydar cross as champion two-year-old colt Anees and grade II winner Navesink River, Unbridled Jet is a half brother to stakes horses Kate Again and Wild Summer. His dam is the Easy Goer mare Easy Summer, a daughter of Canadian champion sprinter Summer Mood.
At stud, Unbridled Jet has sired 106 winners and eight stakes winners, led by five-time stakes winner and Pennsylvania champion mare Jet Away Jane, Maryland Million Ladies Stakes winner Miss Lombardi, and New Jersey champion two-year-old colt First Class Guy.
Unbridled Jet boasts progeny earnings of over $7 million, and his starters earn an average of $42,600. Unbridled Jet will stand for a $2,000 fee in 2011.
