Graded stakes winner and grade I-placed Temple City (TrueNicks,SRO) has joined TrueNicks. Additionally, Spendthrift Farm has upgraded their entire roster to the new TrueNicks Enhanced report.
By top sire Dynaformer, Temple City is one of the most popular new stallions to enter stud in 2011. In fact, up until Zenyatta's mating announcement was made, Temple City had more TrueNicks reports run on him than any other stallion. One look at his pedigree explains his popularity. Temple City is out of the Danzig mare Curriculum, a half sister to leading sire Malibu Moon (TrueNicks,SRO). Their dam is French group I winner Macoumba (by Mr. Prospector), and the next dam is group I winner Maximova. The family also includes successful sire Septieme Ciel.
Temple City won his debut at 6 ½ furlongs, won twice at one mile, and took the 12-furlong Cougar II Handicap (gr. III) in front-running fashion. He placed in three other graded events, including the American Handicap (gr. II), Del Mar Handicap (gr. II), and Hollywood Turf Cup (gr. I, video below) where he was second by a head after leading throughout.
Temple City will stand for a $5,000 fee.
