Coolmore Has Options with New Purchase Sea Siren

Yesterday Coolmore purchased multiple group I-winning filly Sea Siren, a daughter of Coolmore's champion sire Fastnet Rock (AUS) (TrueNicks,SRO). Below is a conformation video of the 4-year-old.

Sea Siren will make her final start for her previous connections May 11 in the BTC Cup (Aus-I) at Doomben, a six-furlong race that she won last year. If she runs well, she could be considered for Royal Ascot. In fact, she'd be one of the highest-profile Australian runners for Ascot now that both Black Caviar and All Too Hard (AUS) (TrueNicks) have been retired and won't be traveling to England.

After Sea Siren's racing career, Coolmore will have several stallion options for her. One that first comes to mind is another recent Coolmore purchase, Pierro (AUS) (TrueNicks), the 2-year-old Triple Crown winner and one of the top 3-year-olds this year in Australia. Another prospect would be former leading sire High Chaparral (IRE) (TrueNicks,SRO), who stands alongside Pierro at Coolmore's Hunter Valley stud.

We ran a Key Ancestors Report on Sea Siren as well as hypothetical Enhanced Reports with both stallions.

Pierro rates C+ (slightly above average) based on his sire Lonhro (AUS) (TrueNicks,SRO) with Danehill line mares. This cross has eight stakes winners from 119 starters. Looking at the Key Ancestors Report, Pierro carries Zabeel, Sadler's Wells, and Miswaki, who are were all identified as positive for mares bred similarly to Sea Siren.

High Chaparral rates a very good A based on the cross of High Chaparral with Danehill line mares, a combination that has three stakes winners from 31 starters. High Chaparral, of course, is a son of the great Sadler's Wells, who is one of the most positive ancestors identified for Sea Siren.

Check out www.TrueNicks.com/KeyAncestors to learn more about the report. There are two versions of the Key Ancestors Report to consider for your mare. The example above, a $50 report, lists the top progeny from similarly-bred mares and the top 15 positive and negative ancestors in potential stallions. The Key Ancestors Report with Analysis, $300, adds detailed analysis and scores for up to 50 stallions of your choice, plus a full catalog-style pedigree for your mare.
